POST-COVID, CHRONIC FATIQUE AND THE FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE APPROACH OUT OF THE PANDEMIC.. AND HOW TO PREPARE FOR WHAT’S TO COME.
IN-PERSON SEMINAR – LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE!
This two day Functional Medicine seminar will highlight the most current clinical presentations and research exploring the “Post SARS-CoV-2” or “Long Covid” syndromes and the potential underlying immunological commonalities between chronic conditions such as Long-Covid and CFS/ME, Chronic Epstein Barr and chronic tick-borne illnesses. The first day of the seminar will include a basic and intermediate review of the immune system, inflammatory pathways as well as a foundation in and distinction between viral, bacterial and fungal pathogenesis. It will also include the most up to date research exploring how our immune system becomes infected with and can be affected chronically by COVID-19.
The second half of the seminar will use Day 1 foundational knowledge to explore current Functional Medicine approaches to bolster immune function, as well as how to approach the Long-Covid patient in clinical practice from a holistic Functional Medicine vantage point.

What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual.
The Functional Medicine model is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.
By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. They may find one condition has many different causes and, likewise, one cause may result in many different conditions. As a result, Functional Medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual
