Course Description:
This course is where those new to the Activator Method® will learn the basics and how to treat the majority of musculoskeletal conditions. Ricardo Fujikawa, MD, DC is a certified instructor and will be your instructor for this course. You will learn about the history of the Activator Method Technique and the Activator Adjusting Instruments. Followed up with the basis of the Activator Method Technique, the Leg Length Analysis. This analysis will help teach you where to adjust, when to adjust, and when to stop adjusting. This course will teach you to adjust from the feet to the cervical vertebrae & occiput. What you will learn with this courseware will help you treat both acute and chronic conditions.
The Activator Methods is taught together with the limitations of the method and the current evidence available for this therapeutical approach.
Course Objectives:
- Understanding of the mechanisms of Instrument-Assisted-Manipulative-Treatment using the Activator.
- Understanding of the possible mechanisms involved in the response to the treatment from a biomedical perspective.
- Knowledge of the evidence available for the instrument and its use in a clinical setting, including its limitations.
- Knowledge of clinical clues leading to the diagnose of the most common MS conditions.

Dr. Ricardo Fujikawa, MD, DC, MSc
The instructor is Ricardo Fujikawa, MD, DC, MSc; who is a licensed physician in Spain and a fully qualified chiropractor. He holds the instructor certification with the Activator Methods International, Phoenix (AZ). He has 20 years of experience in medical education, being a former faculty member at the Palmer College of Chiropractic (USA), Feevale University (Brasil), and RCU Maria Cristina (Spain). Currently, he is an associated faculty at the Southern California University of Health Sciences (USA), and a Senior Lecturer at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic – Madrid Campus. He was a PhD student at the School of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon (Portugal), and he is involved in Basic Science Research under Dr. Arantxa Ortega leadership, using the Activator instrument. He has published as co-author of articles related to Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis responses to Instrument-assisted SMT.
